On my way to WikiSym and I am online, high speed at 27,000 feet over the Atlantic, a very odd experience.

Joe Crump: A friend of progressives everywhere | Progressive Majority Washington "And labor is where his base was. From his days in Michigan, to coming out here, Joe had experienced most of labor’s traditions, some good and some bad. But he knew that America’s working people needed to be organized, that unions were one of the only weapons that hard working Americans had to stand up to the powerful, the greedy, the heartless, the monied interests.

That was where his heart was. With the working men and women."

ChurchGal:
Lately, two articles have become linked in my head: one, the recent LA Times Magazine article about the sleazy Girls Gone Wild mogul, Joe Francis, who has issues with coercing/forcing young women into sex and exhibitionism and two, the continuing narrative about the American soldiers who gang raped a girl, killed her, set her body on fire and killed three other members of her family to cover their rape/murder (which I describe in stark terms because they are stark actions. Let’s not be squeamish when we’re talking about these things.)

Bliki: MarkDilley: NPOV
Discussing Wikimania? with CharlesGentry? and he is giving me great insight on an the NPOV? issue.

The tag for disagreement is good because it flags the information for the reader to pay extra special attention and to think about what they are reading more carefully. Futher more he thinks that it could encourage people to contribute to the issue by editing content (or placement of content.) The potential is to be an active reader rather than passive on and spur on interactivity.

I also like the opposite idea, that it is a good thing that some pages don’t have the banner, because that shows agreed upon information or no known disagreements.

Can you imagine these examples:

FlashPostcard: TrueMajority.org
In honor of Hiroshima Day, we'd like to take a minute to reflect on just how absurd it is for America to maintain 10,000 nuclear bombs. Defense experts say that many simply aren't needed, and by reducing the nuclear arsenal our country could save $14 billion dollars -- more than enough to save the lives of six million kids who die of starvation in impoverished nations each year.
