"What sort of danger comes from ignorance? For most people ignorance doesn't seem to carry much of a An Ancient Tree for your Kleenexpenalty. In fact, for most of us, ignorance is indeed bliss. As long as we don't know or care to know what goes on in most of the world's developing nations, we can feel good about buying clothes produced in Bangladesh sweatshops or eating food from an agricultural conglomerate that has monopolized the farming industry of India. Now, I know, I know, it sounds like I am preaching again. But is it not an important issue? Should we not care?

By just taking a glimpse at history, we can see how ignorance on the part of the masses has allowed for evil on a grand scale: the crusades, the inquisitions, witch trials, fascism, fundamentalism, etc. Will corporate globalization join this list?"
