formations appealing for the support of Green Party
members. One of these, Greens for Democracy and
Independence (GDI - see: http://www.greens4democracy.net)
calls itself 'a national committee of Greens who promote
the principles of Democracy and Independence within the
Green Party.' The other, Progressive Democrats of
America (PDA - see: http://www.pdamerica.org) says it
is 'working to actualize the very same visions many of us
have been desperately seeking to realize in the political
arena for years, to build an effective broad-based,
grassroots, progressive alliance, to elect progressive
candidates' (quote from PDA National Director, Tim Carpenter)."
