Things came to a head in 2004. In the spring of that year, Georgetti's daughter Sarah was hired as office manager. Much better compensated than the magazine's writers, Ms. Georgetti reportedly clashed with TCW's editor and with Salmi. In October 2004 Kay and, a group that Salmi describes as "a shady cabal of backers", took control of Victory Square Publishing. Kay fired Terminal City Weekly's editor and disabled Salmi's access to an electronic archive of all of the material he'd written for the magazine since 2001.
