laura the tooth: the french could teach us a few things: "over one million french people took to the streets to protest a draconian law that allows companies to fire employees under 26 within the first 2 years on the job without reason.

i'm no economist, so i'm not about to get into the nitty gritties of the financial cycle and how it affects the employment rate and whatnot. but the bottom line is this: how far are we willing to let the most unfortunate among us fall? and make no mistake--the ones that like to tell the rest of us to tighten our belts are the ones who are still living it up.

this isn't a smutty post, but goddammit this is an important current event! we need to know about the world, and our ignorance of their affairs is no longer excusable."
