A Public Lecture

The Global Class War

Jeff Faux

Economic Policy Institute

October 16, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Bernath Auditorium, WSU Undergraduate Library

Jeff Faux's new book, The Global Class War, offers an original analysis of how globalization is increasing inequality and creating a global elite, "the party of Davos," who have more in common with each other than their fellow citizens and whose trade agreements act as a global constitution that protects only one kind of citizen - the corporate investor. For Faux, the central task is to democratize globalization through the creation of a social contract, region by region. More specifically, he proposes cross-border social contract for North America that could become a model for a global social contract. Jeff Faux is founder and former president of the Economic Policy Institute. The Global Class War (Wiley, 2006) is his sixth book. Copies will be available for purchase at the lecture.
